Day 4 - The Cosmic Christ of Colossians!

Today's verses could be called a Prisoner's Prayer from Paul for the people of Colossae, though he had never met them!  It's Colossians 1:9-12:

For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.  May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the sayings in the light.

What a wonderful prayer!  Goodness - it's filled with praying for knowledge, wisdom, belief, behavior, and walking and working out in our lives what we believe!

Listen in, especially the ending about praying for ourselves, our country, our democracy, and our future.  Though we can't change everything, we can change ourselves, so the closing part will encourage you to just pray several times a day, "God, what do you want me to do?"  Pray that, and then listen.  And then listen some more.  We need to be on our knees in prayer, especially right now, asking God, "God, what do you want me to do?"

Here's the video:

And here's a great song that tells us what we need to do right now - Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.  We sing this at church, so join in and sing along!
